A new year means new wedding trends. After the last two years, the wedding industry deserves the trendiest 2022 weddings ever and I think it is going to deliver.

While 2021 saw the trend of neon signs with lots of greenery, I predict that 2022 is going to be bolder and full of color. From brighter florals to colored wedding dresses – 2022 is going to be bright, bold, and beautiful. While greenery will never go fully out of trend, incorporating brighter colors into florals is definitely coming back.

The color isn’t just popping up in the decor, colored gowns are also a trend the industry is seeing. White is not everyone’s favorite color so why wear it on your wedding day if you don’t want to? Colored gowns or reception dresses are straying from the norm and I am so here for it! Blues, pinks, even black gowns are here to stay for 2022.

A huge trend for 2022 that started during the pandemic, is micro weddings or elopements. Even with restrictions easing up, the restrictions could change at any minute. I have seen many couples have to completely change their plans several times so it only makes sense that the newly engaged crew is avoiding it completely! Intimate ceremonies and the tiniest receptions are just as beautiful as a 300 guest wedding. An elopement or micro wedding also allows the day to focus on just you and your partner. I love getting to shoot just two people in love without any added pressure to their special day.

2022 is about making your wedding your own. In recent years couples have nixed the typical wedding day traditions (bye-bye bouquet toss). Things that your parents say you have to include are no longer things you truly have to include. Having more freedom to let your guests mingle with you before your ceremony, skipping a big cake cutting, and doing what YOU want to do on YOUR day is a trend my couples deserve.
