Villa Montalvo is a Bay Area favorite when it comes to elegant outdoor venues. This intimate wedding story was inspired by delicate French inspired details. From powder blues to soft pinks, the colors remind me of Sofia Coppola’s Marie Antoinette movie aesthetic.
The bride’s first look is a flowy Monique Lhuillier gown with pink florals and long sleeves. A sophisticated low ponytail with dangle earrings complete the vision.
An intimate wedding doesn’t mean you have to skip a tiered cake. A two tier cake is perfect to still have a wow factor surrounded by artfully placed botanicals in clear vases.
Mini Baguettes with butter is the perfect appetizer for hungry guests as well as tie in the French inspired theme to the tablescape.
A small detail many people planning a wedding overlook is chairs. Finding beautifully rustic or crafted chairs really adds to the aesthetic of your event rather than folding chairs.
When it comes to time of day, I recommend photographing here in the early morning. The light gets harsh fast so starting earlier is perfect to capture the details in a flattering light. Sunset light peaks through the trees here but most of the ceremony area will be in the shade, which is important to take note when planning your day.
